🍎I Literally Eat This Breakfast Every Morning...

Weekly Check In

Wednesday May 7th

Hey Reader!

I am a morning person. I pretty much have always been this way. I love everything about it - coffee, sunrises, fresh air, exercise and of course breakfast.

If I had to only eat one meal per day, I would choose breakfast. Hand's down.

I am a creature of habit and during the week, my breakfast is pretty much the same. I eat the same thing each morning for several reasons: It tastes great, keeps me full for hours, and requires little effort and planning. It also is high in protein as I try to get in around 30-40 grams of protein per meal.

I had a client last week share some of her go to breakfast recipes with me and I thought it would be fun to share mine with you.

Recipe: High Protein Yogurt Bowls

Ingredients:

  • 1/2-3/4 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1 serving protein powder
  • 1-2 servings of fruit of your choice (I usually go with apples, berries or whatever is in season)
  • Optional toppings - nuts, raisins, cereal, PB, or granola

Directions - mix yogurt and protein powder in a bowl. You may need to add in some water or milk if the mixture is too thick. Then mix in your fruit and top with optional ingredients. You can eat right away or if your mornings are busy, these are great for meal prep. These bowls contain over 30 grams of protein per serving.

I have a few fun variations on my website:

Strawberry Shortcake Yogurt Bowls

Carrot Cake Yogurt Bowls

Apple Protein Yogurt Bowls

Weekly Check In Wednesday June 4th Hey Reader! Let’s talk about a test that most women in their 40s and 50s aren’t getting—but absolutely should. 👉 It’s called a DEXA scan, and it measures your bone density, muscle mass, and fat distribution—aka your midlife health blueprint. Weekly Check In Wednesday March 12th Hey Reader! I hope your week is going great! I used to do fasted workouts. It wasn't until I heard a podcast with Dr. Stacy Sims that I learned fasted exercise is not good for women, especially women over 40. Did you know that most of the research done on fasting is done on men? It was a good reminder that just because a research study says something is "good" or "healthy" we need to take a closer look at the study. So, I took her advice and started eating...

It got me thinking… what if we all made one small shift this week for better health? Keep reading for your Quick Win of the...
